Rules & Guidelines
Vivid Horizon staff reserve the right to enforce the below rules and policies at their discretion. Violating these rules may result in warnings or, for more serious breaches, a potential permanent ban from the server.
Any attempt to cheat, whether through external tools, unauthorised third-party software, in-game exploits or internal services is not tolerated and will be met with disciplinary action.
All disciplinary decisions made by staff can be appealed, however after your appeal is brought to staff the decision here is final.

Server/Community Rules

No Discrimination
Discrimination in all forms is strictly prohibited, including but not limited to: racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, religion, threats of violence and any form of hate speech.
Consent is key
Public Erotic Roleplay (ERP) is strictly prohibited, as it can make others uncomfortable. Please always ensure that all involved parties constent to roleplay scenarios.
Fair Play & Roleplay Integrity
RP is RP
What happens in the server stays in the server. You are playing a character, so whatever happens to your character is directed solely towards your character and should not be considered as personal out of character.
Value Your Life
You should value your life as a character at all times. If you are clearly outnumbered, being held at gunpoint or in any other way at an obvious disadvantage, you should comply with the demands made of you.
No Metagaming
Using out-of-character information to influence in-character decisions or actions is not allowed under any circumstances.
No Powergaming
Unrealistic actions or forcing outcomes onto other players that bypass organic roleplay scenarios are prohibited.
New Life Rule
If you bleed out, i.e. your bleed out counter reaches zero, you will still remember everyone and everything about your life, but nothing about the events leading up to your death. If there are witnesses, they can tell you what happened but you will have no personal memory of the event(s).
Character Permadeath
Permanently deceased characters cannot be revived without explicit administrative approval. Players must honor character deaths deemed permanent as part of the roleplay.
Fear Roleplay
Players must act realistically in life-threatening situations. For example, compliance with demands when held at gunpoint is required to maintain immersion.
Combat & Crime Regulations
No Combat Logging
Force logging out during combat to avoid consequences is strictly prohibited.
No Random Deathmatch (RDM)
Attacking or killing other players without valid in-character reasoning is strictly prohibited. All violent actions must be supported by roleplay justification.
No Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM)
Using vehicles to harm other players without appropriate roleplay justification is not allowed.
No PD/EMS Baiting
Please do not deliberately provoke law enforcement or emergency medical services with legitimate roleplay reasons. Gangs should remember that law enforcement have superior resources.
Criminal activity before server restarts
No petty criminal activity should be initated when the time reaches 15 minutes before a server restart.
No major criminal activity should be initiated when the time reaches 30 minutes before a server restart.
Gross Roleplay (Torture & Grotesque RP)
If you wish to engage in mature, gross or otherwise overtly graphic roleplay with other players, you must get consent out of character with all players that may become involved at a pre-determined time before the roleplay begins.
This type of roleplay should only happen away from populated or public areas, i.e. prison cells, businesses, the appartments or EMS.
This type of roleplay has the potential to distress other player, especially when they are not expecting it. You are therefore required to respect the potential boundaries of others, and should not conduct this type of RP without acquiring their prior consent in such scenes.
Suicide Roleplay
Suicide roleplay is strictly prohibited, limited but including to as leading towards suicidal behaviour.
Usage of /me
Appropriate Use of /me
The /me command gives you the ability to describe something happening to yourself that you might not otherwise be able to convey verbally or with some other movement or emote. Other players can then react to this appropriately.
Inappropriate Use of /me
The /me command should not, however, be used to power-game in any way. You should not use it as a means to affect other players directly - such as to injure or disarm them.
Heists
A rule of 4 people applies to the heists listed below. Only 4 criminals are allowed to participate in the Heist activities listed below; the "rule of 4". During these heists, Law Enforcement will be able to adopt a +1 approach to dealing with said heists.
This activity includes anyone within the surrounding building/area. During a heist, law enforcement are not allowed to shoot first, unlike at other times.
Additional replacement vehicles, other vehicles or confusion tactics and the involvement of other criminals not present at the original heist are permitted to keep the heist activity fresh.
House Robberies also fall under the "rule of 4". Spamming house robberies, however, is considered to be a win mentality activity and not permitted.
The "rule of 4" does NOT apply to Pacific Bank heists. In this case, the server encourages that both criminals and law enforcement players put together a well-formed plan of action that is agreed before the actual heist is enacted in-game.
Please direct any questions you have about heists to Vivid Horizon staff via Modmail.
Workplace Roleplay
Business owners should endeavour to ensure that their business is open and maintained regularly so that other role-players can interact with them.
If it becomes apparent that you are unable to manage the business in a manner that benefits the server and its player, Vivid RP staff may consider reallocating the server to a more active member.
Contacting Staff
If you have any issues and need to contact the Vivid Horizon staff, please do so using Modmail in the Vivid Horizon Discord server. Please do not contact staff directly via DM's.
We cordially remind you that the Vivid Horizon staff are volunteers and may not be able to answer your query right away. Contact via Modmail may also result in a faster reply as it can be picked up by anyone on the team.
